We have two staff vacancies in our busy specialist cycle shop based in South Croydon, one in the main shop and the second in our mail order department. It is a full time position, we work a five day a week, naturally we all work Saturdays so you will get a day off during the week; however we do not open Sundays.

Main Shop Vacancy: The main job description will be serving customers, processing deliveries, maintenance of stock levels, assisting in placing orders with suppliers and merchandising, you will quickly be expected to become part of our team of six. Of course your job description will include the general retail duties that go with running a busy independent specialist like Bike Plus.

Mail Order Department Vacancies: As part of a small team the main job description will be processing internet and mail orders. Fear not this amounts to far more than just wrapping parcels, customers are always our main priority and you will be here first and foremost to help and advise them, normally by telephone and email, giving advice and assistance in helping them chose the correct product(s) relevant to them. As we advertise in the 'CTC' and Cycling Plus magazines a vast majority of our customers are new to cycling, so they greatly appreciate our advice, naturally this makes the job far more varied, interesting as well as rewarding. To add to this variety in quieter moments being linked to the Bike Plus shop you will also help customers there, as such it also helps of course that you have hands on access to all the products well sell mail order, so you do not have to give advice based on data alone, as you can talk through any products with the item actually infront of you

The successful applicants will have a good knowledge of many of the products that can be seen on our shop website, have excellent communication skills as you will need to liase with colleagues, suppliers and customers alike. It is very important that you have a pleasant, cheerful, open and friendly personality and be able to express yourself clearly. You will also be self motivated, if you see that something needs doing, then we would expect you to do it. Computer Skills are essential as we naturally have have a stock system (soon to change) that will require maintaining as well as stock levels .
